Dogecoin is coming to ICP! đŸ¶ - Big deal or not?

The next Chain Fusion update will add native Dogecoin support. So no more bridges; just real Doge directly in DeFi (swaps, lending, etc).

Canisters will be able to hold and send Dogecoin with the new Dogecoin canister that tracks the Doge blockchain. Combined with threshold ECDSA, it’s basically fully decentralized Doge on ICP.

There will also be ckDOGE, a “twin token” that’s faster, cheaper, and works with the ICRC standard, so it’s easy to use in DeFi apps and canister smart contracts.

probably not
looks like the doge state is quite big (200gb+) quite costly for the IC

Might be a bigger deal than you think, IIRC a doge whale is also invested in ICP
