The biggest flaw in ICP tokenomics is that NNS staking period is too long :
Staked ICP cannot circulate effectively.
Whales are reluctant to pump ICP’s price—if you were a whale, would you want to pump ICP to $100, only to have the 8-year stakers harvest your gains directly?

It also does not inspire confidence in new stakers as 6 months staking is a long time compared to under 30 days staking like Ethereum, Cardano, Near, etc. I’m personally staking for 8 years and I think Dom should reduce it to 1 year staking MAX while greatly reducing the staking rewards. We want the price of ICP to pump and it doesn’t make sense to stake unless there is some form of reward/short duration of time to stake. You are right on the money! Why would whales want to pump the price of ICP if only the 8-year stakers (with their maturity) absorbing most of it and selling directly on the market ASAP. There needs to be some sort of flywheel that attracts investors into ICP which in turn would make the price increase greatly while retaining long-term investors. Great points @dom
